36th South Coast Geological Society Weekend Field Trip

Rescheduled to June 18 through 20, 2010

Come to explore San Gabriel Mountains!

From Mount Baldy trough Cajon Pass, San Andreas Fault Zone and Mormon rocks to the Nortern Slopes of San Gabriel Montains.

The address of the RV Park is 30601 E Glendora Ridge Road, Mt. Baldy, CA 91759. This address is not recognized by mapquest; however I have used a combination of street map and aerial photo to display the route from our monthly meeting point at the Double Tree Club to the entrance of the RV Park. You will each have to record the directions and the nearest freeway to your homes to plan your individual routes. Traveling on the 57 and 210 appears to be a straightforward route.

For those people who want to spend Friday night at the RV Park we can arrive at 2:00 pm and will be allowed to set up camp. Friday dinner is on your own.

For everyone and especially those driving up Saturday morning, breakfast is set for 6:45 am. We need to load the bus with people, drinking water, sodas, etc. and be driving away from the RV Park at 8:00 am on the dot in order to meet our Day 1 schedule. The remaining itinerary is in the road log and guidebook. We have a good solid tour day through Cajon Pass and in the vicinity of Highway 2 on Saturday in the comfort of a large Tour Bus. On Sunday we will be touring relatively close to Mt. Baldy and will travel by carpool and we request please no solos. Some of the stops have limited space and we will be travelling under National Forest Service ADVENTURE PASSES. If any of you have a current Adventure Pass, please bring it with you. We will buy more one-day passes as needed.
